Juncture - Previous photographic series
Alongside my physical self, Labyrinths’ inclusion of nature, light and colour is a development of the natural elements in Juncture.

brumby - Previous photographic series
My 2017 series Brumby whilst still exploring emotion via the animal form, documents the iconic and controversial Australian wild horse living in the threatened Mount Kosciuszko landscape. Both my 2017 series Brumby and Juncture were exhibited in a nonlinear salon-style hang, inspiring the additional use of video in Labyrinth to explore this “static image movement”.

black - Previous photographic series
My series’ Blue (2014) and Black (2015) feature my blurred, distorted and fragmented body expressing emotional states whilst caught in them. They explored sadness, fear, anticipation and anger in relation to grief. Labyrinth goes further by intentionally using chance and distortion alongside a meditation practice to encourage a more in-depth study of emotional states.

Circumplex Model of Affect - Figure 1
Figure 1. Eight affect concepts in a circular order. (From "A Circumplex Model of Aflect" by James A. Russell, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 1980, 39, p. 1164. My markings in red as an example of Labyrinths’ daily use. This becomes an additional anchor which I can artistically explore further upon exhibition.
